Pray for Pastor Chuck 6/12/12
I know most of you are already aware, but I want to encourage all of you to pray for Pastor Chuck as he announced on Sunday, Janurary 1st, 2012 that he has lung cancer. It is very difficult to understand why God allows these things in our lives, but no one has a better attitude than Chuck! His positive outlook is (and always has been) unmatchable and is truly infectious. I have heard him say many times, “When you don’t know what to do, go back to what you DO know.”
What we DO know is that the Lord is holding the future and He is not going to give up on Chuck. Now if you’re an Eeyore like me with the blood type “B Negative” you were thinking, “How could God allow this to such a faithful man, especially at the beginning of a brand new year?! What is going to happen now!?” But what the Lord has shown me is this,
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
I know the Lord is going to use this and work in ways we cannot see…but let’s please continue lifting him (and Kay!) up in prayer! Even though they are both pillars of Godly strength, they are not exempt from needing comfort and encouragement. And if you can make it out tomorrow night to communion at Costa Mesa, I encourage you to be there. Pastor Chuck will be doing the usual Prophecy Update and I’ll be priviledged to sing 🙂 Also Thursday night, Greg Laurie will be interviewing him at Harvest OC. Both of these events are at 7PM and are going to be very special. Our God is Healer and He is also in control 100% so really there’s nothing to fear or worry about. Also I am sure that no one loves this man more than me so I want to pass along the prayer request 😉 As Pastor Chuck would say, “The worst thing that could happen is that I could die, and well, wouldn’t that be glorious to go and be with the Lord!” Thank you all
