Crystal Cooper is a young performer who has been singing all her life. Born into a musical family, Crystal’s heritage has set the stage for her performing arts career. She has carried the leads in numerous theatrical productions in Orange and Los Angeles Counties in such shows as The Sound of Music, Oklahoma, Cinderella, and The Wizard of Oz.  Recently, Crystal has completed a year-long run at Tibbies Great American Cabaret, starring in a musical revue entitled Those Fabulous Forties’ a tribute to the swingin’ era.  While Crystal has had extensive theatrical experience, her true love has always been singing.  Her beautiful and melodic voice has given her great opportunities to perform at many exciting venues as well as at community events, local churches and schools.

In 2002, at the age of 15, Crystal was part of a four-girl pop singing group called Harmony. The group had many diverse opportunities including getting to perform at the Santa Monica Pier’s charity event ‘The International Day of the Child’ alongside performers Lindsay Lohan and Koolio, as well as working with academy award-winning songwriter, Al Kasha.  However, after several months, the girls of Harmony decided to pursue their own individual careers.  Crystal continued to pursue a professional career throughout high school but was faced with the challenge that so many other young performers do in the struggle of balancing a somewhat ‘normal’ teenager’s life with a professional career.

Crystal’s next step was to be a part of a country band called Wildflower.  This pop-country group proved to be a tremendous experience for Crystal.  Wildflower recorded an album, filmed a music video, Movin’ On, and performed at exciting venues including the Steelers Stadium in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

Although these experiences were positive and beneficial for her, Crystal felt God leading her in the direction of Christian music and a worship album.  Together with talented songwriter Kathy Gipson and under the guidance of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, Crystal released her first solo album, So Close.  This engaging worship album contains ten original songs by Kathy Gipson as well as the classic The Holy City. Pastor Chuck Smith comments on the album, "It has been a long time since I have listened to an album that I felt brought me into the presence of the Lord in pure worship. I play this album over and over again, and each time I listen, I find myself worshiping as I listen. This album is entitled, So Close, and that is exactly what it does, causes you to draw so close, to our Lord."
